Lilianna Angel Reyes, M.P.A

Lilianna Angel Reyes, trans Latina woman and Master of Public Administration graduate from the University of Michigan school system, has extensive history in leading organizations and coalitions focused at reducing social and health disparities of marginalized populations. Her work focuses on antriracism and trauma informed principles. She has worked with many state & national civil rights organizations, and government & corporate entities including Planned Parenthood, Detroit Police LGBT Advisory Council, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, Consumers Energy, and many others. Lilianna is a longtime member of the Ballroom scene and member of the Iconic House of Ebony, now serving as the Detriot Godmother for the house and was recently inducted in the Detroit Ballroom Hall of Fame 2020. Ms. Reyes most recently spoke at the United Nations on the status of trans women of color in the global call for women’s success. Currently, she serves as Youth Drop-In Director at the Ruth Ellis Center, and is also the Executive Director of a transformative Detroit based non-profit, The Trans Sistas of Color Project (TSOCP). Under Lilianna’s leadership, the organization won the Detroit Spirit Award 2020. She also is President of her own consulting agency, Reyes Training and Consulting which focuses on DEI initiatives at corporate and governmental agencies, including health care organizations. She was highlighted in USA Today’s Faces of Pride 2017, 100 Women of the Century 2020, and in NBC’s OUT Pride List 2020, Google’s Pride Spaces 2021, Adidas dedication to Ballroom 2021, and USA Today Pride 2021 campaign.
